About Live Northern Rivers

Live Northern Rivers is a website to promote and inform readers about what life is like in the Northern Rivers.  Our region includes the local government areas of

  • Clarence Valley in the south with our famous jacaranda trees,
  • Richmond Valley from idyllic coast to beef country of Casino,
  • Lismore with our largest hospital and university facilities,
  • Kyogle with village life, rural opportunities and the gateway to the rainforests,
  • Ballina with enviable surf breaks and the domestic airport gateway
  • Byron with tourism opportunities and stunning coastal to hinterland life
  • Tweed on the Queensland border with a meandering waterways and coastline, sacred mountains and caldera formations.

The last few years have shown Australians that life is precious and how (and where) we spend our days are important to our physical and mental health.  For those considering a sea-change, a tree-change or a me-change, the Northern Rivers has much to offer.

For relocators – it may be the surfing and the natural environment that attracts you to our region, but rest assured you will be pleasantly surprised by the variety of work, the convenience for family and the connected community that awaits you.

For returning residents – you may have left the region as a teen or a young adult seeking adventure and work in the cities.  Get re-acquainted with the region and see how growth has made this a natural place for you to return to.

For business owners and investors – the Northern Rivers is a region of opportunity and growth.  The local government councils all have busy offices constantly managing the balance between development and maintaining services for our communities.  Your business has the opportunity to grow in this region as the population increases and more service providers and employers are sought.

An Initiative of Regional Development Australia (RDA) Northern Rivers

As a complement to our Jobs Northern Rivers initiative, the Live Northern Rivers website is an initiative of RDA Northern Rivers and the Northern Rivers Workforce Steering Committee.  The objective being to both improve the employment outlook and support local businesses in attracting people with the right skills into their job vacancies.
